Liverpool ‘still want Kalidou Koulibaly transfer’ as Napoli star speaks out on speculation
Liverpool could be in the market for a central defender with Virgil van Dijk facing a lengthy period on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury
Liverpool. are reportedly still interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Jurgen Klopp looks set to be in the market for defensive reinforcements following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho.
Van Dijk is likely out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, while Fabinho will definitely miss this weekend’s clash with West Ham United.
On the Brazilian’s injury, Klopp said: “Fab is not in, that’s clear. He got a little injury and so he will be out for the weekend and probably slightly longer.”
Those injuries mean that the champions are beginning to be linked with a host of central defenders, with Kouliably amongst the names touted with a move.
According to Calciomercato (via ESPN) Liverpool are indeed still interested in signing the 29-year-old, and hopes of bringing the centre-back to Anfield will have been boosted after he refused to rule out a possible move in the future.
