Walid Soliman guides Al Ahly to CAF Champions League final

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Agencies [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Cairo giants Al Ahly have reached the CAF Champions League final despite a 2-1 away defeat to Algerian side ES Setif in the semi-finals.
The Red Devils won the first leg 2-0 in Cairo thanks to goals from Walid Soliman and Islam Mohareb, therefore they won 3-2 on aggregate.
Following this qualification, Al Ahly have now reached the 12th CAF Champions League final in their history.
In the tenth minute, Ahmed Hamoudi played a great through ball to Moroccan striker Walid Azarou inside the penalty area, whose shot was easily saved by the Setif goalkeeper.
In the 24th minute, Algerian midfielder Al Habid Boujalmouna almost put the hosts in front as he took a very dangerous shot from inside the penalty area but it went just wide.
Seven minutes later Samir Abioud missed a clear-cut opportunity after he received a great cross and found himself alone inside the penalty area but was unable to put the shot on target.
Walid Soliman opened the scoring in the 61st minute after Ahmed Fathi played a great through pass just outside the penalty area.
In the 67th minute, ES Setif scored the equalizer after a foolish mistake from Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy as he was unable to properly catch the ball after a cross.
Five minutes later Abdelmoumene Djabou easily dribbled past Saad Samir and Mohamed El-Shennawy and crossed the ball to Hossam El-Din who scored an easy open goal.
Al Ahly will now be looking to win their ninth CAF Champions League title as they face Tunisian giants Esperance in the final.
